Lovely Afternoon Surprise

I think I've mentioned before that my husband doesn't purchase flowers too often. "They just die" is his reasoning. I've only received them a handful of times in fourteen years. Yesterday, for no special reason, he got me flowers! A woman arrived at the door carrying them. I assumed she was bringing them to leave for a neighbor who wasn't home. However, the tag was for me! :) I think the rarity of flowers for me makes them more special. :)

Then, after dinner, some time at the pool with the girls, and getting the girls ready for bed, we walked to a nearby restaurant, just the husband and I (our girls are ok by themselves for 1 1/2 hours...) We had a drink and some appetizers and walked home. :) Was a wonderful evening. Something special. Still smiling and thought I'd share. :)

Awww, how sweet!

Jason doesn't get me flowers all that often either. Maybe on my birthday he'll come home with a few daisies or something like that.

I've had fresh flowers in the house for the past two weeks and I love it. I have been picking them out of my garden and I picked up a fresh bouquet from the farmer's market today because they smelled wonderful!

that is so sweet of him! (i have to admit, though, i'm on his side about them dying... isn't that awful?) time together just the two of you is so important. i find now that the kids are getting older, we can slip away for a few hours here and there and its good for us - but for them too!

OMG! How do you teach them to do this? Chris just got MAJOR brownie points with me~now, if we could only teach my "old dog" a few new tricks! ;-) Sounds like a great night!

Lovely! It's the little things, like this, that can change everyday life from ho-hum to wonderful. Not the flowers themselves, though they look lovely, but the fact that it occurred to him, and he acted on the impulse!
